Hemp

Are your hemp products legal?

Yes. All hemp products we sell comply with the 2018 Farm Bill, containing no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight. They are federally legal to ship to most U.S. states, but some states have their own restrictions—always check your local laws before ordering.

What is THCa?

THCa is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid naturally present in raw hemp. When heated—by burning, cooking, or vaping—it converts into delta-9 THC through a process called decarboxylation. This is why eating raw cannabis flower will not cause psychoactive effects; it must be heated to become active.

Modern testing methods allow laboratories to analyze raw hemp before heating, providing an accurate cannabinoid profile. Because this testing occurs prior to decarboxylation, the raw plant is federally classified as “hemp.” Our THCa products meet all Farm Bill requirements and are third-party tested for safety, potency, and purity.

Do your products cause impairment?

Some hemp products can cause impairment, others cannot. Non-psychoactive items like CBD, CBN, or raw THCa flower typically do not, but products containing active THC may. We have both preferences available, but we specialize in the products that cause psychoactive effects. It's Where Jupiter Gets Its Buzz!

Always start with a low serving, assess how you feel, and never drive or operate machinery after consuming any psychoactive product.

Do you check ID?

Yes—21+ for all psychoactive hemp-derived products (Including THCa products). 18+ for all others. valid government-issued photo ID is required for purchase in-store or at pickup. No exceptions, no excuses, not worth it!

What’s the difference between sativa, indica, and hybrid?

They describe general aroma and effect profiles of our offerings. Sativa strains are often uplifting and energizing, indica strains are relaxing and calming, and hybrids combine traits of both. Your experience may vary based on individual body chemistry and tolerance.  There's some truth to this classification, but don't get too hung up on it - we've noticed there are "exceptions" to the rules.

What’s the difference between hemp flower that’s 20% THC vs. 30%+ THC?

THC percentage measures potency—the higher the number, the stronger the potential effects per gram.

  • Around 20% THC: Considered moderately strong. Most casual consumers find this delivers noticeable effects with smaller servings and a gentler experience.

  • 25–30% THC: High potency. Effects can come on faster and feel more intense, especially for those with lower tolerance.

  • 30%+ THC: Extremely potent, often preferred by experienced consumers who want the strongest possible effects in the smallest serving size.

Remember—potency is just one factor. Strain type, terpene profile, and your personal tolerance can influence your experience as much as THC percentage. Always start small and adjust based on how you feel.

Is higher THC% always better?

Not necessarily. While a higher THC percentage means more potential potency per gram, it doesn’t guarantee a “better” experience.

Your personal tolerance, mood, setting, and the terpene profile of the strain can all influence the effects. Many customers actually prefer mid-range potency (20–26% THC) for a smoother, more functional experience, while others seek high-THC flower for stronger, shorter sessions.

The best choice comes down to your desired effect, not just the number on the label. Start with what you know you can handle, then explore different potencies and strains to find your sweet spot.

Are your pre-rolls “infused”?

We carry both infused and non-infused pre-rolls. Infused pre-rolls may contain “diamond dust” or other hemp concentrates for enhanced aroma and cannabinoid content. These are very potent and are MUCH higher in THCa than "traditional" cannabis flower.

Product labels and descriptions clearly indicate whether an item is infused. Ask us if you have questions - we want to make sure everyone has a positive experience!

How do I read your COAs?

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) confirms a product’s cannabinoid profile, potency, and safety testing results. It lists the batch number, testing date, and pass/fail results for pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants—including dangerous adulterants sometimes found in unregulated street products, such as fentanyl. Buying from a source that provides a COA means you know exactly what you’re getting.

If you’d like, we can walk you through the paperwork—just ask, we’re happy to help.

Can you give medical advice?

No, we are not a medical marijuana facility. We do not provide medical or health advice regarding hemp or THC products. Consult a licensed healthcare provider if you have questions about your specific situation.

Can you ship hemp products to my state?

Often yes, sometimes no. We ship to most U.S. states where permitted, but some states restrict hemp-derived cannabinoids. Our checkout process blocks known restricted destinations, but it’s always best to confirm your local laws. We do our best to keep up with the ever changing legislation throughout the nation.

I’m new to hemp—how should I start?

Start with the lowest recommended serving and give it time before taking more—this helps you gauge your personal response. Stay hydrated, avoid mixing with alcohol or sedatives, and choose a safe, comfortable setting for your first time. Just like with any new intoxicant: go low and start slow—think a “sip,” not a “shot.”

Amanita

What is Amanita muscaria?

If you’ve ever read a children’s book or played a video game, you’ve probably seen the iconic red mushroom with white spots—Amanita muscaria. While its image is widely recognized, its proper name is less well-known. Beyond its cultural fame, Amanita muscaria has been studied for potential benefits such as reducing anxiety and stress, and it may even have anticonvulsant properties.

Amanita muscaria produces psychoactive effects through three main alkaloids: muscimol, ibotenic acid, and muscarine.

    •    Muscimol acts on GABA receptors and can produce relaxing, sedative effects.

    •    Ibotenic acid is more glutaminergic, often creating an energized and focused mood.

    •    Muscarine interacts with muscarinic acetylcholine receptors and is considered a nootropic—potentially enhancing memory, concentration, and alertness.

Together, these compounds may create an entourage effect. At lower doses, Amanita may support relaxation, improved sleep, and reduced anxiety. Medium to high doses can be dissociative, deeply introspective, or even confusing, and may lead to a heavy slumber with vivid dreams. While not everyone experiences these effects, they are commonly reported.

Is Amanita muscaria safe to consume?

It can be, but it must be used cautiously. Amanita muscaria contains psychoactive compounds, including ibotenic acid, which can cause unpleasant effects at higher doses.

Small amounts of ibotenic acid are generally tolerated by most people, but large amounts can cause nausea and other adverse reactions. Those who take medium to high doses often decarb (heat-treat) the mushroom beforehand to convert ibotenic acid into muscimol, or they purchase a pre-decarbed product. Always consult a healthcare provider before use, and never consume raw or cooked Amanita without understanding proper preparation and dosage.

Are Amanita gummies psychoactive?

They may produce mild psychoactive effects, but they are not psilocybin-based. Effects vary from person to person and are generally more calming or introspective than hallucinogenic. We recommend starting with a low serving and assessing how you feel before consuming more.

How are your Amanita products made?

Our suppliers use water extraction and a controlled heating process to convert ibotenic acid into muscimol. This reduces unwanted compounds while preserving the desired active components. This extract is used to make edibles rather than raw mushroom powder ensuring maximum bioavailability.

How should beginners dose Amanita?

Start with half the suggested serving and wait 30–45 minutes before taking more. This allows you to gauge personal tolerance and avoid unwanted effects. Avoid combining Amanita with alcohol, sedatives, or other psychoactive substances.

Kava

What is kava?

Kava is a root from the Pacific Islands traditionally consumed as a beverage, but at I Need Coffee Jupiter we only offer a concentrated kava extract—30% kavalactones—sold for at-home preparation.

This extract provides the relaxation and sociability benefits of kava without the need for traditional brewing, and we do not serve kava “shells” on-site.

How do I use your kava?

Start low (1g - 1.5g)  of our 30% kavalactone extract) mixed with water, Haitian coffee or a smoothie Wait 20–40 minutes before considering more to gauge your personal tolerance. Our extract is potent—smaller servings are recommended for those new to kava.

Can I mix kava with alcohol?

We don’t recommend it and we won't serve it that way. Both kava and alcohol can affect the liver and central nervous system, and combining them may increase unwanted effects such as dizziness or excessive sedation.

Are there kava side effects?

Some people experience mouth numbness, drowsiness, or mild digestive discomfort. These effects are generally temporary but can be more pronounced with higher servings or frequent use.  We find that using high quality 30% kavalactone extract reduces these effects.

Always use responsibly and avoid driving or operating machinery after consumption.

Is there an age restriction for kava?

Yes—18+ at I Need Coffee Jupiter. We only sell our 30% kavalactone extract to customers 18 years and older. This policy supports responsible use and aligns with our approach to other adult-oriented products.

I heard about kava having a reverse tolerance—what does that mean?

Reverse tolerance means kava’s effects may feel mild or unnoticeable the first few times you use it, then become more pronounced with consistent use. This happens because the active compounds in kava—kavalactones—need to build up in your system before your body fully responds to them.

With our 30% kavalactone extract, some people feel the relaxing effects right away, while others notice them more clearly after several uses. Start low, be consistent, and give your body time to adjust.
